The newcomer's coach was in high spirits. "We always have to play on someone's birthday."

"I'll jokingly say that we always have to play on someone's birthday, because then we always win. First of all, I'd like to thank Łukasz (Sekulski - PAP), not only for his football skills, but also for the kind of person he is and the enormous impact he has on the team and the community as captain. The fantastic fans gave him a fantastic evening; it was incredible," added the Oilers' manager.

This is what was the key to the newcomer's victory

He also revealed that there are times in a coach's life when it's cold and wet, and it's easy to get overwhelmed. "I'd like to thank my players for their attitude, because we work on that a lot in training, on their mentality, on their attitude towards matches and training," he emphasized.

"Today in the second half, Wisła was just defending, but that's the attitude, the belief that such dedication will bring us three points. I sincerely thank the players for that. I'm also grateful for what's starting to happen in this stadium. This is another match where all the stands start singing, experiencing beautiful moments to such an extent that I couldn't even imagine. Let's try to fill this stadium, because I think the way the team plays and the way the club is moving forward step by step is truly a source of pride for our club and city. It's great that Rafał Leszczyński is a zero behind today, because he deserved it too. I thank the coaching staff for preparing the team very well for this match. In the end, I think it was a deserved victory, despite less possession," he concluded.

Pogoń coach Thomas Thomasberg was very disappointed with his players' loss.

"It's been a while since I lost, and I don't quite remember, but it's a very painful feeling to lose a match. The plan we had for today wasn't bad, and in the first minutes we played well, hitting the crossbar, but then that plan fell apart. After that goal for the home team, we lost our way quite a bit. I think there were a lot of bad decisions in our team, so the end of the first half and the beginning of the second weren't the best."

"The situation was even worse after the second goal. We already knew there would be a lot of traffic in Wisła's penalty area, and it would be very difficult to get the ball there. It was a difficult day for us, because Wisła played very well, and we couldn't do anything about it. It must be admitted that Wisła Płock's game plan worked perfectly for most of the match," said the Pogoń coach.

Coach Thomasberg saw the success of the Płock team in the fact that Wisła defended very well.

"When we had a lot of possession towards the end and tried to attack, we still couldn't find the back of the net. I think more than one team here will lose to Wisła at their home stadium. I also have to say that we tried to score today, but it was very difficult because towards the end, when it's 0-2, it's tense, you really want to win, there were some long-range shots, but they lacked quality. There was simply no way to score against the home team today," he noted.
